ADJECTIVE  ? 

            

           Adjective คือ  คำคุณศัพท์ที่ขยายคำนามเพื่อบอกรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับ ลักษณะ คุณภาพ ขนาด รูปร่าง รูปทรง สี  หรือวัตถุดิบที่ทำ  เช่น  big  small  fine  good  cheap  round  or  tall 

            ชนิดของ Adjective

•  articles : a,an,the  หรือ  possessive adjective : my, your, his, her,...
•  possessive noun : father's, John's
•  ordinals : first, next, only, some
•  cardinals : two, other, several, many other 
•  descriptive adjective: beautiful, ripe, delicious
•  little, old, new
•  colors
•  class adjective : English, adult
•  nouns : history  book, flower  garden   

  ตำแหน่งของคำคุณศัพท์ ( Positions of Adjective ) 

      1. วางไว้หน้าคำนาม  adjective นั้น ทำหน้าที่ขยายตัวอย่าง เช่น

            * Peter wears a black suit.
            * Tom is a good guy.

     

      2. วางไว้หลัง Verb to be และ Linking Verbs ตัวอย่าง เช่น
            * The traffic is terrible at 5 o’clock on Friday.
            * He felt tired.

หมายเหตุ

            Linking Verb คือ  คำกริยาที่เชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่าง subject กับ adjective ที่ตามมา ยกตัวอย่าง  เช่น taste ,smell , turn , keep , feel , appear , grow , get , become , go , look ,seem , sound เป็นต้น ตัวอย่างเช่น
                          * The soup tastes good.
                          * The rose smells sweet.
                          * Uncle’s hair turns grey.

          Adjective ต่อไปนี้วางไว้หน้าคำนามเท่านั้น ( ห้ามวางไว้หลัง Verb to be และ Linking Verbs ) เช่น
            

              main (สำคัญ)                    only (เพียง)                         upper (ข้างบน)           

             former (แต่ก่อน)                      chief (สำคัญที่สุด)                   inner (ภายใน)    

             outer (ภายนอก)                   principal (หลักสำคัญ)              indoor (ในร่ม) 

             outdoor (กลางแจ้ง)             elder (สูงกว่า)                      eldest (สูงวัยที่สุด)
           

             drunken (ขี้เมา)                  wooden (ทำด้วยไม้)               golden (ทำด้วยทอง)

หลักการเรียงลำดับ Adjectives
       

    สำหรับการเรียงลำดับ adjective หลายคำที่ประกอบคำนามคำเดียว ให้เรียงลำดับดังนี้
